According to HMRC (HM Revenue and Customs) data, imports in January 2021 of Moroccan products to the United Kingdom increased by + 51% compared to January 2020.
Imports into the United Kingdom of Moroccan products increased from 20,236 tonnes in January 2020 to 30,648 tonnes in January 2021. Zucchini with + 822% ahead of strawberries with + 459% at the top of the increase.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Moroccan fruit and vegetable exports reached 474,000 tonnes in January 2021. Shipments to the United Kingdom accounted for 6.33% of Morocco’s total exports in January.
